The Student Energy Project referred to as “us” or “we” is a project within the parent company of amber energy.

In carrying out our day-to-day activities, we process and store personal information, adhering to the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018. 

What information do we collect about you? 

We collect personal data that can be used to identify you and create your personal profile. It includes your:

We would only collect sensitive personal data about our students if there is a clear reason to do so. For example: we may collect sensitive information about lifestyles that can affect engagement with the project. 

We collect information about you when you register on our website. We also collect information when you voluntarily interact with our social media pages including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. We will also collect information when you voluntarily complete student surveys and enter competitions. 

How we will use the information about you? 

We collect information about you to process your order, manage your account and, if you agree, to email you about other services and opportunities we think may be of interest to you. 

We use your information collected from the website to personalise your profile and record your energy saved, using the information you included about your residence. 

How long will we keep your data?

Personal data we hold, including your student profiles, will be kept during the academic year you register at The Student Energy Project. 

We keep this data to enable us to respond to queries/ concerns about your experience at The Student Energy Project, and to accurately calculate your energy consumption. 

We continually review what information we hold and delete what is no longer required.
